The Zinclotus Story

Hi, my name is Helen
and over six years ago, I created Zinclotus.
During the pandemic, I explored global health issues and shifted my focus from becoming a doctor to developing healthcare solutions and engaging in public policy. I identified Zinc deficiency as a major global health challenge, particularly in low-income areas like the south-side of Chicago (where I go to school). I also learned that a large part of the Indian population battles Zinc deficiency due to factors such as increased CO2 and a lack of access and affordability.
Inspired by the non-profit Lucky Iron Fish, DWB, and my own chemistry teacher, I considered using a Zinc ingot to transfer nutritional elements into meals. After consulting with experts, I raised $5,134.73 through GoFundMe, zinc-themed cookie bake sales, and my summer job to fund my project, Zinclotus.
In 2024, a portion of every sale supports distributions in India and Chicago.
